Making your children scientifically literate

Review by D.P

A while ago, I found an interesting article about how to introduce science literacy to children (and to adults too). I value the approach in the article very much because I admire the scientific way of thinking in every aspect. We all need to think about our future and ensure that future generations stay smart or even become smarter.
However, due to the fact that various ideologies and unethical values (by pseudoscience, religion, celebrities, etc.) affect new generations in a very destructive way, future problems could become even more challenging. Such forces do not appreciate the scientific approach or healthy skepticism. In some cases, the development of scientific literacy in childhood is not welcomed. Therefore, each successful attempt to negatively impact the education process (e.g., the introduction of creationism in school curricula or emphasizing celebrities’ lifestyles/values as the only valuable ones) corresponds to a reaction where children are learning to “follow” and think within constraints. This article is a good example of how every parent should make nature more interesting. Personally, I enjoyed it.
