When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions – Documentary

Review:
A very nice documentary for space exploration enthusiasts and professionals. Great insights about astronomy, physics, space-flight engineering and it’s failures and accomplishments.
It is a vivid and fast forward picture of how our technology changed over time, like professional video cameras in ’60 and then in 21. century, or computing technology, etc. With each space program and each space launch there are visible social changes too, like those, where more and more women got involved as space engineers, control flight technicians or astronauts.

Questions like, why we don’t fly to the Moon anymore or how many times we were there and why, or what other priorities came after Gemini project, were answered in a very detailed manner.
Only one downside of this documentary is the fact that Russian space program has been somewhat neglected. At the end, this is a documentary about NASA, so this was not so big surprise. Yet, the last episodes incorporate some important aspects of the Russian space program.
