Be advised: This list is not complete!!
PAGES/BLOGS:
- Unexplained on Gaia – This site is full of conspiracy hypothesis. To untrained mind, lot of stuff there make sense.
- Big Think – The Big Think changed slowly into “small think”. From time to time, one can find an interesting article or video, however nowadays they are very rare and good stuff come (reposted) from earlier days.
- Intelligence is sexy – a page full of rhetorical nonsense and self-helping advices. With intelligence has nothing to do.
- Thinking Minds – same as above!
- https://www.wahrheitsnetz.com/ – Webpage about esoteric and conspiracy hypotheses; Esoterik, Humbug und Verschwörungshypothetiker Webseite
- www.AEGIS.at – Anti-Vaxx nonsense; Impfgegner Humbug
- Psiram.de or Esowatch.de – Webpage about esoteric nonsense. Do not confuse it with Psiram.com or Esowatch.com. These Websites are offering the opposite of Psiram.de or Esowatch.de!!!
- Der Blog für Science & Politik – An Austrian blog-webpage community with a contradictory name (Blog for Science and Politics), considering the pseudoscientific claims they offer as main content. It is a place for those who formally possess higher education yet are highly scientifically illiterate. This community tries to bring up the academic titles of their contributors as credibility benchmark, which is a school example of an argumentum ad verecundiam.
- Discovery Institute – An organisation dedicated to support and spread religious dogma and nonsense by misusing science. A lot of alleged “scientists” work there who are part of this movement.
WANNABE (SCIENCE) JOURNALISTS/PHILOSOPHERS:
- John Horgan – https://www.johnhorgan.org/
A few very good articles about Horgan’s way of writing:
– The Fictional Aether: A rant: “puckish”, “provocative” science journalist fails to understand basic facts about scientific expertise
– John Horgan makes a strawman argument against “consilience” – Why Evolution Is True - Richard D. Precht – a German “science” philosopher. He honestly believes that he is giving or being able to give a good assessments about various scientific topics. Therefore I would not consider him so much anti-science as those who do the same thing but from very ill intents. Sometimes he scores a few interesting points, however one must be careful not to fall for his (I must admit it!) very nice rhetoric. Still, a good rhetoric is not an argument.
An article about Precht’s way of writing:
– Ein populistischer Schreiber und Kritiker – Wie uns der intellektuelle Scheinanführer Richard D. Precht wieder einmal mit unsinnigen Argumenten irreführt, dieses Mal zu Corona | Lars Jaeger - Yuval Noah Harari – not exactly to be considered as typical anti-horseman, but more like someone who misunderstood some philosophical topics and concepts, yet truly believes that these are part of objective scientific truth. For instance, his claim about humanism is on such case: Debunking Yuval Noah Harari claims about humanism
